Missing exchange data between 17 Jan to 22 Jan
We're aware of an issue where some exchanges are missing rates between 17 Jan and 22 Jan 2018. As a result, converted portfolio values over those dates may be incorrect.
This was caused by a job scheduling bug, which we have now resolved. For some of these exchanges we will be importing this missing data shortly, which will then automatically correct your converted portfolio values.

What does it mean when a chart is "loading"?
When you initially visit your portfolio, or after you have added or removed some accounts to your portfolio, you may notice that some of your charts loading in the background. Charts loading in the background are indicated with a loading spinner at the bottom left (or bottom right).
This loading spinner is displayed while the chart is calculating some data, or updating some accounts, asynchronously on one of our job servers. Any old data is displayed while we're crunching the new data, and your chart will refresh with the new data once the task has completed.

New portfolio timeout
Hi Jevon,
Whilst creating new portfolio on the Android app, I kept getting a timeout error and being unable to login for making too many actions. I was adding BTC and ETH and I wanted to customise the charts on my portfolio page. Everything was working great except for this error making my account timeout twice.
I was also shown an error that said I was unable to log in because I had logged in too many times (due to the timeouts).
I have now just re-logged back in and it seems to be running smoothly again 🙂

Trial balances for portfolios and currencies
Today we have released the ability to view the balances for any of your portfolios on a specific date. This is similar to Trial Balance functionality in accounting software.
When viewing your Balances, select the Report Options dropdown, select the date that you would like to view, and click Update to refresh the report.
You will be presented with a Balances report for your portfolio as if you had viewed the report at the start of that day.
Note that your calculated portfolio history will only go back to the date 24 months before you originally signed up with CryptFolio.

Clone charts with one click
Today we have released a little improvement allowing you to directly clone or make a copy of a chart in your portfolio.
Select the Options menu using the top-right gear icon, and select Make Copy. The chart will have the same properties, parameters, and technical indicators as the original chart, and will be placed at the end of your portfolio.

Portfolio inventory balances API
Today we have updated the CryptFolio API to include a read-only endpoint for viewing your inventory balances for each portfolio.
Your inventory balances are the sum of all transactions in your portfolio, that have a transaction type of purchase or sale. In order for your tax reports to work correctly, your inventory balance should equal your portfolio balance.
This API endpoint is identical to the information you will see if you visit your Portfolio > Balances.
For more information about how we use transaction types to calculate your tax reports (such as FIFO), check out this article, or review the

Exchange rate notifications no longer include deprecated exchanges
Today we have released a fix so that deprecated exchanges won't be included in any exchange rate notifications that you may have set up. This should greatly improve the quality of the exchange rate notifications that you receive.
You can browse the list of deprecated exchanges – exchanges which are no longer active, or those that generate inconsistent data – on our exchanges list.

CoinGecko rates now available
Over the last few weeks we have added support for tracking all ~17,000 exchange pairs supported by CoinGecko, and this data is now live and available for your reports. This brings our supported currencies to over 5,000!

Read-only API keys
Today we're pleased to announce that you can now access your accounts and portfolios using read-only API keys.
API keys are another way to access your account data, without having to go through the process of creating an OAuth2 application – but you can only access the account data for your own account. If you're making an application that accesses other users' data, then using OAuth2 is much better.
Note that if you use e.g. the ?api_key=xxx approach, your request may be logged by third-party cookies or proxies. We recommend setting the X-API-KEY header instead.
API keys also do not

Live background job progress bars
Today we have released an update that lets you see the progress of any address or wallet that is currently being updated in the background by our servers. This is particularly useful for slow wallets, such as Binance and Bitfinex, so that you know what's going on in the background.
When an account is being updated by our job servers, the progress will be live updated on the account page:
You will also be able to see a summary of each updating account in your Portfolio Configure page:
This has been released as part of our ongoing commitment to make

Transaction groups and related transactions
Today we have released an update to make it easier to categorise and link together transactions.
We have removed the previous concept of Transaction Links, because we found that this was slowing down CSV and feed imports for large portfolios, as we would have to search over ALL transactions in your portfolio in order to find a link. Links were also directed, which could cause transactions to have transaction link cycles.
We have instead added the ability to create Transaction Groups. You can now add transactions to any number of groups, and the groups can have custom names. For example,

Updating how deprecated exchanges are used
Today we have released a small update that changes how we select deprecated exchanges in calculating composite rates.
Previously, we would select any deprecated exchange for any exchange date – and, since we prefer direct exchange pairs like DOGE/EUR instead of going through DOGE/BTC and BTC/EUR, deprecated exchanges (particularly Vircurex, which is still running, but essentially deprecated) would be selected – causing reports and charts to sometimes be misleading.
With this change, we now only select deprecated exchanges if either (a) the exchange was not deprecated before the date of conversion, or (b) the exchange has been selected as one

Two-factor authentication
Today we have released a new feature: the ability to secure your account with two-factor authentication (2FA).
Using 2FA, you can use an external device (such as Google Authenticator on your mobile phone) to generate a time-based code, which you will need to supply in order to login, using any of your login methods.
This can vastly improve the security of your account, by ensuring that only people with access to both your login method AND your 2FA device can access your portfolios and accounts.
To enable two-factor authentication on your account, visit Your Profile and select Enable two-factor authentication.

New designs for historical data
Today we've released a better user interface and design for our historical data pages – our supported currencies, and our supported exchanges (and their exchange pairs). The pages are now cleaner, faster, and easier to read.
As part of this update we've also improved the accessibility of our historical data on mobile, and improved site performance.
