  • How does CryptFolio add new exchanges?

    Jevon Wright · 0 · Posted

We want to add support for as many exchanges as we can to CryptFolio, with priority on exchanges that are in the highest demand, or that trade assets not supported by other exchanges.

In order to integrate an exchange into CryptFolio, the requirements are:

    • The exchange must have an API to fetch the last trade for an exchange pair, and its 24 hour trading volume.
    • The exchange should have an API to list all of the supported currencies and exchange pairs.
    • The exchange should have a single API to list ALL supported exchange pairs and their last trades and 24

Incorrect market average rates over 19-21 April 2018

Jevon Wright · 1 · Last reply by Jevon Wright

We're aware of an issue where converted value reports and market averages may be incorrect over 19-21 April 2018:

This was due to a bug in our code when we started importing very old CryptFolio data (from 2013) over this period, and has impacted market average rates, and in some cases converted value reports. This bug has since been fixed, but we need to rebuild the affected market average rates.

We will be rebuilding the market average rates soon, and this will resolve this issue for all existing accounts. This bug has only affected reports – the underlying data has

Bittrex API not loading all order history

Jevon Wright · 1 · Last reply by Jevon Wright

We have been made aware of an issue with the Bittrex API, where Bittrex may not return the full order history of your account. This can mean that when you add a Bittrex account, some historical transactions may be missing.

We have submitted a support request to the Bittrex team, but unfortunately this issue is out of our control.

As a workaround, we will soon be implementing CSV imports, so that you can download your full order history manually from Bittrex, and then upload it to CryptFolio.

What IP address should I restrict API keys to?

    Jevon Wright · 0 · Posted

We do not suggest that you use an IP address filter for API keys that you create and share with CryptFolio.

At any time we may change the IP address(es) of our jobs servers, and in such a situation you will need to manually log into each of your external accounts and change the IP address associated to that API key. Since we only use read-only API keys, you should not be exposed to any financial risk when we change our job server IP addresses.

Currently we have one job server IP, and you may use this to restrict API

This table displays the latest value of your portfolio, converted into each of your reporting currencies.

For each account, address and offset in your portfolio, the balances, history and transactions are summed up for each currency, and converted with the closing (composite) rate for each day.

The table includes the percentage change of each value over the last week.

If you are looking for a chart displaying your historical portfolio value, consider the Converted Value chart. If you are looking for a table with the raw balance for each currency, consider the Portfolio Balances table.

This pie chart displays the latest account distribution of all currencies in your portfolio, in terms of a given target currency. This includes all currencies in your portfolio, not just your reporting currencies. The target currency must be one of your reporting currencies.

For example, the above chart shows a portfolio consisting of 52% USD, 45% LTC, and the remainder consisting of BCH and other currencies – if all balances were converted into USD today.

If you are looking for the distribution of the balances of a particular currency in your portfolio, consider the Currency Distribution chart.

  • How a composite rate is calculated

    Jevon Wright · 0 · Posted

When CryptFolio needs to convert one currency value to another on a given date – for example, when calculating your historical values, or your inventory reports – there are many different techniques that the rate can be calculated or selected.

    Existing valuation

If a transaction has a valuation defined manually, then that value in that valuation currency will be used (and converted through a composite rate if necessary). Otherwise, the value is calculated using a composite rate, as defined below.

    What pairs are used?

By default, we use the following priority, to calculate a composite rate for any two given

    What is a mining pool?

    Jevon Wright · 0 · Posted

A mining pool is a service where many users "pool" their resources together to "mine" for cryptocurrencies.

Most cryptocurrencies are so difficult to solve ("mining", which is essentially solving the equations necessary to secure the blockchain and include its transactions) that for smaller participants, it's more realistic to share their resources together, and then for the mining pool to split the rewards out based on the effort each participant executed.

Many mining pools will also provide cryptocurrency wallets for their users, to allow you to accumulate your earnings out over many different blocks and send the rewards in a single

  • Transaction fields exported to CSV

    Jevon Wright · 0 · Posted

When you export a collection of address or account transactions, you will get a CSV file with these values for each transaction:

This exported list of transactions can also be imported back into CryptFolio.

    Converted columns

If you're also converting each transaction into another target currency, you'll also get these following columns. If a transaction or balance could not be converted - for example, there was not enough historical exchange data - the fields will be empty.
