Is there a risk when sharing xpub keys?

For ease-of-use, CryptFolio supports tracking xpub (extended public key) addresses, which are long strings starting with "xpub". These keys allow CryptFolio to track all of your addresses, without you having to export and import them manually into the platform.

However, please be aware that providing your third party to any third party (including CryptFolio) can introduce additional risks.

Theoretically, by sharing your extended public key (xpub), the recipient can obtain all of your current – and future – wallet public keys and addresses, and identify and view all of your historical transactions. This can have privacy implications, if you are trying to remain anonymous with your cryptocurrency transactions.

Additionally, if the recipient ever obtains a single private key from your wallet, they will be able to obtain all of your private keys and take your funds.

However, as long as you always keep your private keys safe, your funds will be remain safe.

How does CryptFolio add new exchanges?

We want to add support for as many exchanges as we can to CryptFolio, with priority on exchanges that are in the highest demand, or that trade assets not supported by other exchanges.

In order to integrate an exchange into CryptFolio, the requirements are:

The exchange must have an API to fetch the last trade for an exchange pair, and its 24 hour trading volume.
The exchange should have an API to list all of the supported currencies and exchange pairs.
The exchange should have a single API to list ALL supported exchange pairs and their last trades and 24 hour trading volumes.
If you hold users funds, you may also want to be listed as a wallet on CryptFolio, so that your users can track their balances and transactions on our platform.

We will not support exchanges that are inherently insecure, cannot provide read-only credentials, or could expose any of our users private information. More information about this principle is listed in Our Security Policies.

How do I add my GDAX/Coinbase Pro account?

To add your GDAX/Coinbase Pro account to CryptFolio, follow these steps:

Creating a GDAX/Coinbase Pro API Key

1. Log into your GDAX account, and visit your Profile Information page.

2. Select the API Settings tab.

3. Select the button to create a New API Key.

4. In the dialog that opens, make sure that you only have the View permission set. You must not enable the Transfer or Trade permissions. You will also need to select a passphrase (you should use a completely random and independent string). Finally, select Create API Key to create the new key.

5. You will be shown your API Secret. It is very important that you copy this before closing the dialog, because the secret will not be shown again.

4. You will now have your GDAX/Coinbase Pro API Key, API Secret, and API Passphrase, ready to put into CryptFolio.

Adding the GDAX/CoinbasePro API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to add a new GDAX/Coinbase Pro account, and select the GDAX option.

3. Enter in your GDAX/Coinbase Pro API Key, API Secret, and API Passphrase.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances from your GDAX/Coinbase Pro account.

5. You're done!

To add your NiceHash account to your CryptFolio, follow these steps:

Creating a NiceHash API Key

1. Log into your NiceHash account, and visit your Settings page.

2. Visit the API menu.

3. NiceHash only supports a single read-only API key per account. If you do not already have a read-only API key, create a new one by clicking Get a new key. Make sure that you only provide a read-only API key with CryptFolio.

4. You will now have your NiceHash API ID and your ReadOnly API Key, ready to put into CryptFolio.

Adding the NiceHash API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Pool" button to add a new NiceHash account, and select the NiceHash mining pool option.

3. Enter in your NiceHash API ID (as the Customer ID), and your ReadOnly API Key.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances from your NiceHash account.

5. You're done!

How do I export my Litecoin addresses from Litecoin Core?

To export your Litecoin addresses from Litecoin Core safely, follow these steps:

Exporting your Received Addresses as CSV

1. Open up your Litecoin Core application.

2. In the main menu, select File > Receiving addresses...

3. Here you will see all of the addresses you have created to receive transactions. Click on the "Export" button to save these addresses as a CSV file.

Uploading the CSV file to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the addresses to.

2. Click on the "Address" button to add a collection of addresses.

3. Select the "Add many at once" option to upload a file of addresses.

3. Select the exported CSV file using the system dialog. Make sure that you also set the currency for the new addresses to Litecoin.

4. Click "Upload Addresses" to submit the file. CryptFolio will now process the file and add the addresses to your portfolio.

5. You're done!

Are some addresses missing?

You may be missing some other addresses from your export, which Litecoin Core by default does not expose in the Receiving Addresses export. To get these, follow this guide to export your change and keypool addresses.

How do I add my Kiwi-Coin account?

To add your Kiwi-Coin account to your CryptFolio, follow these steps:

NOTE: Kiwi-Coin does not provide a safe way to access your trades through API – you will need to import them by uploading a CSV file of your trades.

Creating a Kiwi-Coin API Key

1. Log into your Kiwi-Coin account, and visit your Account page.

2. Visit your API page.

3. Here you will see a list of all of your API keys. Click the Add new API-key button to create a new API key.

4. Make sure that the new API key does not have the Allow trade permission before clicking Add.

5. A new API key has now been created. You will be shown the new key and secret – you must copy the key and secret for later.

6. Click on the Activate link to activate the new API key. You will be sent a confirmation email to activate the new key.

7. Click on the activation link in your email to complete the API key activation process.

8. Finally, make a note of your Customer ID. This is the number at the top of your account page, and not your username or e-mail address.

Adding the Kiwi-Coin API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to add a new ANXPRO account.

3. Enter in the key, secret, and your customer ID from the previous screens into the Add Account dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances and transactions from your Kiwi-Coin account.

5. You're done!

Cryptopia does not yet support creating safe, read-only API keys for user accounts. Consequently we only support Cryptopia accounts if you export your transactions to CSV, and import these CSV files into your CryptFolio account.

To add your Cryptopia account to your CryptFolio, follow these steps:

Exporting Cryptopia CSV files

1. Log into your Cryptopia account, and visit your Account page.

2. Visit each of your Deposit History, Withdraw History, and Trade History pages.

3. On each of these pages, there will be a button to download your transactions as a CSV file.

4. Save the generated CSV file to your computer somewhere. The filename does not matter.

Adding a Cryptopia account to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Amount" button to add a new, custom account.

3. You can call the new account whatever you wish, for example "Cryptopia". You can leave all of the balances empty.

4. Click "Add Fixed Amounts". Once the account has been created, scroll to the new account and select "View Transactions".

5. Using the "Import transactions..." button, you can import each of the Cryptopia CSV files you saved previously, into your new account.

Supported External API formats

CryptFolio supports External APIs (also known as Generic APIs) that list balances.

The URL for the External API must be accessible over HTTP or HTTPS. If HTTPS, then the SSL certificate must be valid.

The reported balances need to be in one of these formats:

A single number - the default currency for that API will be used
- balances-text.txt example
A JSON file with a hash of "currency": "balance"
- balances-json.json example
A JSON file with an array of { currency, balance/value } keys
- balances-json2.json example
A CSV file with headers of "balance/value" and "currency"
- balances-csv.csv example
- balances-csv2.csv example

If you need support for another API format, please get in touch.

In the future, CryptFolio will also support external APIs that list transactions.

1. Log into your ANXPRO account, and visit your Settings page.

3. Here you will see a list of all of your API keys. Click the button to create a new API key.

4. A new API key will be created. You will be shown the new key and secret – you must copy the secret for the next step. Make sure that the key does not have the Move Funds or Place and Manage Orders permissions before clicking Save.

Adding the ANXPRO API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to add a new ANXPRO account.

3. Enter in the key and secret from the previous API screen into the Add Account dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances and transactions from your ANXPRO account.

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

3. Enter in the key (public key) and secret (private key) from the previous API screen into the Add Account dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances from your BitMarket account.

3. Create a new API key, with a secret phrase that you need to enter in. You will need to remember this secret phrase in the next step. Make sure that only the Get Balance permission is enabled.

4. Your new API key will now be active, and ready to add to CryptFolio.

Adding the Vircurex API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to add a new Vircurex account.

3. Enter in your Vircurex username and the secret key you previously assigned to the Get Balance API key.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances from your Vircurex account.

4. Make sure that the Enable Trades and Enable Withdrawals options are NOT selected. This will create an API key that is read-only and safe to share with CryptFolio.

Adding the Poloniex API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

1. Log into your HitBTC account, and visit your Settings page.

2. Click on the API keys tab in your Settings.

3. Create a new API key.

4. By default, your new API key will have no permissions enabled. You will need to enable both the "Order book, History, Trading balance" and "Payment information" permissions.

CryptFolio uses the History permission to retrieve the historical trades and orders on your account, and the Payment information permission to retrieve the incoming and outgoing deposits and withdrawals on your account.

5. You now have a new API Key and Secret that you can add to your CryptFolio.

Adding the HitBTC API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to then add a HitBTC account.

3. Copy your HitBTC API Key and API Secret and put them into the CryptFolio dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now download the balances and transactions from your HitBTC account.

To add your Cex.io account to your CryptFolio, follow these steps:

Creating a Cex.io API Key

1. Log into your Cex.io account, and visit your Profile page.

2. Under the "Account Settings" menu, select "API".

3. Here you can create a new API Key. Make sure that only the "Account balance" permission is selected, and click "Generate Key".

If you have 2FA enabled, then you will need to enter in a new 2FA code to create the API Key.

NOTE: You must not enable any other permissions. Otherwise, if somebody accesses your CryptFolio account, they may be able to make trades with your funds.

4. Your new key and secret will be generated and displayed. You must save these before you navigate away from that page.

5. Your new key will need to be activated before it can be used. Click on the "Activate" button for Cex.io to send you an email.

6. Check your e-mail inbox for the email from Cex.io. Click on the link in the email.

7. The API key will now be activated.

Adding the Cex.io API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to then add a Cex.io account.

3. Copy your Cex.io Username, API Key, and API Secret and put them into the CryptFolio dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now check your API key and download the balances and transactions from your Cex.io account.

5. You're done!

To add your Binance account to your CryptFolio, follow these steps:

Creating a Binance API Key

1. Log into your Binance account.

2. API keys are only available to users with 2FA enabled. Make sure that you have 2FA enabled on your account, and click the API Setting button.

3. Create a new API key.

4. By default, your new API key will have the unsafe "Enable Trading" permission enabled. You'll need to click on the "Edit" button, and uncheck all checkboxes except for "Read Info".

5. You now have a new API Key and Secret that you can add to your CryptFolio.

Adding the Binance API key to your portfolio

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Exchange" button to then add a Binance account.

3. Copy your Binance API Key and API Secret and put them into the CryptFolio dialog.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now check your API key and download the balances and transactions from your Binance account.

5. You're done!

1. Go into your CryptFolio and Configure the portfolio you wish to add the account to.

2. Click on the "Pool" button to then add a Slush Pool account.

3. Copy your API Token (from Slush Pool) and put it into the Add Account dialog on CryptFolio.

4. Click "Add Account". CryptFolio will now check your API key and download the balances from your Slush Pool account.
